  DUBLIN "DOING ALL IT CAN FOR PEACE" 
  Deputy Irish Prime Minister Dick    
  Spring has said his government will 
  seek any opportunity to bring about 
  peace in Northern Ireland.          
                                      
  Mr Spring said that hj did not know 
  if peace was on the horizon, or how 
  distant that horizon might bj.      
                                      
  But, directing a message to Ulster  
  unionists, Mr Spring told Irish MPs 
  that partnership meant nothing if   
  it did not mean equality.           
                                      
  The Irish cabinet is considering a  
  report on talks between SDLP's John 
  Hume and Sinn Fein's Gerry Adams.   
 
