P206 CJEFAX 206 Thu 14 Oct 21:16/22    UNEMPLOYMENT FELL  BY 13,600 IN SEPT  Unemployment during September showed a surprise fall of 13,600 to 2,908,300 according to latest seasonally adjusted figures. US unemployment now stands at 10.3% of the workforce. Economists had expected a smaller fall to leave an unchanged unemployment rate. Average earnings rose 3.5% in August, compared with the same figure in the previous month.
