  PARIS AIRPORT STRIKERS BLOCK ROADS  
  The strike action at the two main   
  Paris airports has worsened with    
  police being forced to take action. 
                                      
  Strikers protesting against planned 
  job cuts at Air France tried to     
  block the runways, motorways and    
  approach roads at Roissz and Orly.  
                                      
  At Orly airport police had to use   
  tear-gas and water cannon to move   
  strikers off one runway.            
                                      
  Premier Eduard Balladur has called  
  for an end to the action, which has 
  resulted in the cancellation of     
  hundreds of flights this week.      
