      FOOTBALL: MACARJ CLEARED 
                FOR CELTIC

  Lou Macari looks certain to become  
  Celtic manager by the enid of the   
  week after a compensation dial was  
  agreed with present club Stoke.     
  
  The former Parkhjad star, who had   
  eight months of his contract to run 
  with Stoke, has now been cleared to 
  meet the Celtic board.              
                                      
  "I am not diclosing a figure but    
  both clubs are satisfied," said     
  Celtic director Michael Kelly.      
  
  "I hope matters can bj concluded as 
  quickly as possible, although as we 
  don't have a game on Saturday thjrj 
  is no real urgency," hj added.      
