He urged a working party bj set up to prepare plans for a pjrmanjnt volunteer UV peace-keeping force. He warned that a lack of such a force had made it hard for the UV to carry out its mandate in war zones such as Somalia. Britain should also bj willing to designate specific units of its military forces for UV operations, Mr Smith said.
