Lady Janet planted a beech tree on the castle lawn to replace one blown over in gales in January 1992. She and her husband lived briefly in Penrhyn Castle in 1949. Tony Lewis, Chairman of the Welsh Tourist Board, was also at the Penrhyn Castle for the presentation of Welcome Host Gold Awards.
