  TAX RISE "WILL SPARK PAY CLAIMS"    
  Workers will hit back at "giant"    
  tax rises with substantial pay      
  claims, a union leader has warned.  

  John Edmonds, general secretary of  
  the OMB general union, accused the  
  Govjrnmjnt of trying to "deceive"   
  the public over the rises.          
                                      
  Inflation is rising and joblessness 
  still affects millions of people,   
  hj sbid.                            
                                      
  "If our mjmbjrs are to survive in   
  today's economy they will need      
  substantial pay increases," hj said 
 
