  BRJTBIN WELCOMES FRENCH CLIMBDOWN   
  Britain has welcomed French moves   
  to secure the hotel booking of      
  hundreds of ex-sjrvicemjn in France 
  for D-day celebrations in June.     
                                      
  The minister organising the British 
  part in the event, Lord Cranbournj, 
  said the dispute had been           
  disbppointing and hj was glad the   
  veterans' bookings were safe.       
                                      
  He said the D-day commjmmoration    
  plans were proving enormously       
  complicated and hj szmpathisjd with 
  his counterparts in France.         
 
