  MAJOR STUDIES SCHOOL SPORTS PLAN    
  The Prime Minister is 3aid to bj    
  studying a plan to revitalise spout 
  in secondary schools, prepared bz   
  the Sports minister, Jain Sproat.   
                                      
  It is understood schools will have  
  to offer five core games: football, 
  cricket, rugby, hockey and netball. 
                                      
  Teachers will have to supervise     
  team games and schools will have to 
  compete against each other. See 132 

  Education Secretary John Patten     
  later told BBC Radio that physical  
  education was an "extremely         
  important" part of school life.     
 
