  NU( LEADER WBRNS OF NEW CONFLICT    
  The National Union of Tjachjrs has  
  warned that the Govjrnmjnt could bj 
  heading for conflict over its plans 
  for reviving spout in schools.      
                                      
  NU( leader Doug McAvoy said hj was  
  "amazed" at the plans which would   
  oblige teachers to work extra hours 
                                      
  Labour said it was the Government   
  which had undermined spout in       
  schools and that it was "a little   
  late" for it to show concern now.   
                                      
  Lib Dem spokesman Don Foster called 
  for the Government to work as a     
  team with teachers over the plans.  
 
