  IndyCar champion Nigel Mansell was  
  the fastest of 20 drivers who took  
  part in the first two days of open  
  testing at the Phoenix Raceway.     
                                      
  Mansell, who was injured at the     
  Phoenix oval in Arizona last year,  
  recorded a lap of 20.316 seconds in 
  his Lola Ford-Cosworth.             
                                      
  Mansell and four other drivers were 
  all unofficially under the track    
$5 record of 20.833 seconds.           
                                      
  Official practice and qualifying    
  for Sunday's race, the second round 
  of the 16-race IndyCar sjrieu,      
  begins on Friday.                   
