  a storming lap of the Shah Alan     
  circuit on his Cagiva.              
                                      
  $hj American came within 0.08 secs  
  of his track record, clocking 1 min 
  25.180 secs round the 2.178 mile    
  circuit in Kuala Lumpar.            
                                      
  Italian Luca Cadalora earned the    
  number two spot on a Yamaha with    
  Spaniard Alberto Prig taking third  
  on his Honda ousting the big namru. 
  
  Defending champion Kevin Schwantz   
  had trouble with his Suzuki and     
  finished ninth.                     
