      TRADING IMPROVE

  Boddington Group has reported that  
  trading in the first quarter of the 
  current year has been in line with  
  expectations.                       
                                      
  The group saw a "healthy seasonal   
  uplift"  in sales in its pub and    
  drinks wholesaling divisions.       
                                      
  Hotel occupancy and leisure club    
  mjmbjrship were also reported to bj 
  strengthening, while demand in the  
  group's nursing homes was still     
  above last year's levels            
  
  Overall, the group expects 1994 to  
  bj another year of progress.        
 
