  INKATHA WENS REGIONAL KWBZULU POLL  
  The Zulu-dominated Inkatha Freedom  
  Party has won control of the new    
  regional assembly in South Africa'u 
  volatile KwaZulu/Natal province.    
                                      
  $hj Independent Electoral           
  Commission said Inkatha took 50.3%  
  of the votes in the Zulu heartland  
  compared with 32.2% for the ANC.    
                                      
  Meanwhile, Zach dj Beer has         
  resigned as leader of the white     
  Democratic Party following his      
  party's poor result.                
                                      
  It gained only 1.7% of the votes.   
 
