  ITBLY: PM'S PARTY AHEAD IN POLLS    
  Italian Prime Minister Silvio       
  Berlusconi's party has strengthened 
  its position as the most popular    
  political force, a poll shows.      
                                      
  Forza Italia now commands 25.6% of  
  the vote, up 4.6 points from its    
  standing at the March election.     
                                      
  And support for all other major     
  parties had slipped, the poll says. 
                                      
  The njo-fascist National Alliance   
  is still in the third place, but is 
  almost a percentage point down on   
  its general election standing.      
 
