      HONK KONG VENTURE    
 
  Just three years after closing down 
  its stockbroking operation in Honk  
  Kong, National Westminster Bank is  
  re-establishing a presence.         
                                      
  Already represented via its Nat+est 
  Markets arm, it is entering into a  
  local joint vjnturj with Whjelock,  
  the old-established merchant house. 
                                      
  The venture, which is dui to start  
  operations bz the end of the year,  
  will encompass equity stockbroking, 
  corporate finance, and investment   
  management, leaving NatWjst Markets 
  to concentrate on capital markets,  
  currencies, and corporate banking.  
 
