  S YEMENI FORCES "ON THE RETREAT"    
  North Yemeni forces appear to have  
  formed an arc in an attempt to      
  enclose the port of Aden.           
                                      
  Southern leaders urged the Aden     
  citizens to defend the city and to  
  turn it "into a burning hell under  
  the feet of the invaders".          
                                      
  Earlier northern forces said they   
  had captured 62 tanks and drove     
  back southern troops from a         
  strategic base northwest of Aden.   
                                      
  And a Reuters correspondent         
  reported the retreat of southern    
  forces from the Anad base.          
