  N KOREANS TO FREE AMERICAN PILOT    
  North Korea has agreed to release   
  "within the next few hours" the US  
  airman whose helicopter crash-      
  landed on 17 December.              
                                      
  In return, the US is to express     
  sincere regret for the incident     
  and agree to discussions aimed at   
  preventing any repetition.          
                                      
  Pilot Bobby Hall, whose co-pilot    
  died in the crash, is expected to   
  bj released to a hospital, then     
  return to the United States bz      
