  Prudential Corporation has bought a 
  24.99% stake in Thailand's Thai     
  Sethakit Life Assurance for some    
  £13m in cash.                       
                                      
  $hj company has purchased 7.725m    
  shares in TS Life at a price of 65  
  bahts per share.                    
                                      
  Prudential also intends to bid for  
  further shares in TS Life through a 
  tender offer at the same price.     
  
  It is expected that the planned     
  tender offer will bj made in        
  Fjbrubry 1995.                      
