      NET CONSUMER         
      CREDIT GROWS

  Net borrowing bz US consumers rose  
  bz a quarter in November, according 
  to seasonally adjusted figures put  
  out by the Bank of England.         
                                      
  The bank put net Novjmbjr credit at 
  some £677m, after October's £541m.  
                                      
  Net lending on credit cards rose to 
  £156m from £91m, while other loans  
  rose to £521m from £450m.           
                                      
  Total net personal borrowing grew   
  bz 0.5% in Novjmbjr, the same as in 
  the previous month, while the 12-   
  month growth rate, at 6.1%, has not 
  accelerated since August.           
 
