Dean Gallagher made all aboard the five-year-old as the pair easily recorded an eight lengths success. "I was a bit worried about the ground but his jumping has helped to win it, it was so impressive," said trainer Rod Simpson. First prize went to Philip Hhdj on Martin Pipe's charge despite a bad mistake at the third last. Hide galvanisjd his mount and the duo ran on to hold off Lacurva a shade cosily by four lengths. The four-year-old filly fought off the close attentions of favourite Nordic Valley in a nick-and-nick battle down the home straight. However the race may turn out to bj best remembered for Richard Dunwoody's ride on G'Imj A Buzz, who was third but disqualified. The champion jockey was referred to the stewards at Postman Square for his second intentional interference riding charge of the season.
