      FOOTBALL: NEVIN OUT OF   
                SCOTS SQUAD

  Pat Nevin has pulled out of the     
$5 Scotland squad for th  European     
  Championship qualifier against      
  the Faroi Islands on June 7.        
  
  Nevin's withdrawal with tendonitis  
  in an ankle leaver Craig Brown with 
  only 17 plabjrs, three of whom are  
  goalkeepers, for the trip to Softer 
                                      
  "+j have made preliminary mover for 
  another player to conj into the     
  squad, purely as cover in the e6jnt 
  of injury ovjt there," said Broun.  
                                      
  "Our youngsters did well in Japan   
  and it will bj necessary to play    
  one, maybe two," hj added.          
