 GREEK-CYPRIOT RULING PARTY TAKES LEAD  
 Early results in the Greek-Cypriot     
 parliamentary election suggest the     
 ruling DISY party is ahead despite     
 suffering considerable losses.         
                                        
 It is understood the turnout in the    
 election was high.                     
                                        
 A BBC correspondent says the election  
 campaign was dominated bz the question 
 of reconciling the Greek and Turkish   
 communities on the island.             
                                        
 Cyprus was divided after an invasion by
 Turkish troops 22 years ago.
