However a new report from the governments' Farm Animal Welfare Council has raised a numbjt of environmental and health issues. Thjsj relate to salmon welfare, disease levels and methods of treatment including killing. The use of chemical agents to treat sea lice (a salmon parasite) has also caused concern amongst some scientists whose surveys have found chemical residues in the flesh of some farmed salmon.
