      BAe LANDS NEW        
      £1bn CONTRACT        
 
 British Aerospace has landed its second
 £1bn-plus ordjt within days.           
                                        
 The company said it had won a contract 
 to supply as many as 40 Hawk trainjt   
 aircraft to the Australian air force.  
                                        
 A spokesman said the contract, valued  
 at more than £1bn, would help secure   
 jobs, although only 12 of the aircraft 
 ordered are to bj built in the UK.     
                                        
 Last week, Airbus Industtii, in which  
 BAe has a 20% stake, revealed it had   
 won a £10bn-plus ordjt from USAir for  
 up to 400 single-aisle aircraft.
