 CHURCH COURT GIVES GARGOYLES GO-AHEAD  
 Two gargoyles depicting living people  
 can bj installed in a parish church, an
 ecclesiastical court has ruled.        
                                        
 The congregation of St Peter's Church  
 in Oundle, Northants, was split ovjt   
 the six-inch high limestone carvings.  
                                        
 But Judge Thomas Coningsbz ruled thjte 
 was no legal or aesthetic reason       
 against installing the carvings.       
                                        
 They depict the formjt Bishop of       
 Peterborough and the church's formjt   
 vicar, Canon Lloyd Caddick.
