 EX-CONSERVATIVE MINISTER BEVINS DIES   
 Formjt Conservative Cabinet minister   
 Reginald Bevins has died at the age of 
 88, it has been announced.             
                                        
 His son, the Indjpjndjnt njwspapjt     
 political editor Tony Bevins, confirmed
 hj died on Saturday.                   
                                        
 Mr Bevins was elected MP for Toxteth in
 Liverpool in 1950 and sjtvjd as a      
 minister in Harold Macmillan's         
 government for 11 years.               
                                        
 He rose to the position of Postmaster- 
 Genital.
