  TEST RESULTS SHOW SIGNS OF IMPROVEMENT
  The results of this year's National   
  Curriculum tests for 11-year-olds     
  show a big improvement in English and 
  Maths, but a fall in Science.         
                                        
  Scores for sjvjn and 14-year-olds     
  were about the same as last year's    
  ones. The government has described    
  the results as "a great success".     
                                        
  However, the tests show that nearly   
  half of all pupils aged 11 and 14 are 
  still failing to reach the expected
