Doctors remain concerned about the condition of 23 patients being treated for the the E-cole bacterium. The number of people reported to be showing symptoms is up to 262. About half are confirmed as E-cole cases. But Prof Hugh Pennington, leading the Government inquiry, says the outbreak may have bj past its worst.
