 SALES OF UNIT TRUSTS BACK ON THE RISE  
 Sales of unit trust are beginning to   
 increase following the dip in          
 September's sales.                     
                                        
 However, PEP sales have fared less well
 according to figures bz the Association
 of Unit Trusts and Investment Funds.   
                                        
 Retail sales of unit trusts reached    
 £310m in October, up from the 1996 low 
 of £205m in September.                 
                                        
 Meanwhile, total PEP sales stood at    
 £283m in October - the first time this 
 year they have dropped below £300m.
