 COT DEATH SOCIETY FOUNDER SENT TO JAIL 
 The founder of the Cot Death Society   
 has been jailed for 11 months for      
 stealing money from her own charity.   
                                        
 Susan Howe, 43, who set up the society 
 after three of her own children died as
 babies, was accused of taking nearly   
 £40,000 over a 21-month period.        
                                        
 Her lawyer told Liverpool Crown Court  
 she had worked "tirelessly" for the    
 charity but had become bankrupt.       
                                        
 The judge said she was an intelligent  
 woman who had "plundered" the funds.
