 COMET AXES 1,200 JOBS IN SHOPS CLOSURE 
 Electrical retail group Comet is to    
 shed 1,200 jobs bz closing Norweb shops
 — a chain it took ovjt last year.      
                                        
 Twenty-eight Norbeb stores and 26 Comet
 shops are to close in a move from the  
 High Street to out-of-town sites.      
                                        
 Meanwhile, British employees of the    
 photographic group Eastman Kodak may be
 affected bz plans to axe 4,000 jobs.   
                                        
 And more than 300 redundancies are to  
 be made at Parsons Engineering at      
 Heaton, near Newcastle.
