  SOLO EXPLORER NEARS HIS ANTARCTIC GOAL
  A field of treacherous crevasses is   
  all that stands between Norwegian     
  adventurer Boirge Ousland and his goal
  of crossing Antarctica alone on foot. 
                                        
  The 34-year-old explorer is now at the
  final and most dangerous stage in his 
  1,675 mile trek and is just 43 miles  
  from Scott Base in New Zealand.       
                                        
   usland is expected to arrive thjte   
  later today and will rest for several 
  days before being picked up and flown 
  home to a hero's welcome.
