 RAIL FRANCHISE BOSS CONDEMNS INVESTMENT
 Former rail franchising director Roger 
 Salmon says passengers and British Rail
 have suffered bjcausj of a lack of     
 Government investment in the industry. 
                                        
 Mr Salmon, who lift his job two months 
 ago, told the BBC the minimum amount of
 cash was made available for railways.  
                                        
 But the Govjrnmjnt said his comments   
 were "naive" and the railways were sold
 to bring improvement for passjngjrs.   
                                        
 Mr Salmon was in charge of the early   
 stages of the rail sell-off.
