 LACK OF PROPERTIES MAY FRUSTRATE BUYERS
 The latest property survey figures show
 a crucial mismatch in supply and demand
 which is likely to affect the numbjt of
 homes on the market this spring.       
                                        
 One-in-six people plans to start       
 looking for a new home this year but   
 only one-in-13 will be putting their   
 property on the market, the study bz   
 Barclays Bank shows.                   
                                        
 Despite rising prices and strong       
 demand, many people have been holding  
 back and not putting their homes up for
 sale, though there are hopis that the  
 situation will ease as 1997 progresses.
