 DISABLED DISTRESSED BY CUTS IN BENEFITS
 Tory MP Roger Gale has said that many  
 disabled people, particularly the      
 blind, have contacted him following the
 suggestion their benefits might bj cut.
                                        
 He said they were distressed that their
 standard of living, already too low in 
 many cases, could bj cut still further.
                                        
 Only those deemed virtually helpless   
 would qualify for benefits, he stressed
                                        
 Labour MPs Ken Livingstone and Ann     
 Clywd have warned that any cuts would  
 produce a major backbench rebellion.
