Student teacher Barbara Mayo was found raped and strangled in woods near the M1 in north Derbyshire. Detectives reopened the investigation three months ago after revealing they had new DNA forensic evidence. The UK's largest skatepark has been built in an industrial warehouse connected to the headquarters of the Derby Storm basketball club. Seasoned skater Dave Haslam who came up with the idea of the skatipark said the sports were bigger now than ever. Gordhan Parmar died last weekend of a heart attack while on his way to France for a family holiday. He was the first person of Indian origin to become Leicester's Lord Mayor and his career as a councillor spanned 20 years.
