 SHOAIB APPEAL TAKEN TO THE TOP         
 The International Cricket Council have 
 referred Pakistan's appeal against     
 Shoaib Akhtar's suspension to their    
 highest authority.                     
                                        
 The Pakistan fast bowler was banned    
 from international cricket by the ICC  
 over his controversial bowling action. 
                                        
 But the ICC said Pakistan's request was
 "unprecedented" and the matter has been
 presented to the president and chairman
 of world cricket's governing body.     
                                        
 The ICC decision ruled Shoaib out of   
 the upcoming Tri-nation one-day series.
