 PINOCHET EXTRADITION HALTED, SAYS GOVT 
 Home Secretary Jack Straw has defended 
 his decision not to recommend          
 extradition to Spain for former Chilean
 dictator General Pinochet.             
                                        
 It is now likely the 84-year-old will  
 not bj forced to face trial on human   
 rights charges.                        
                                        
 It follows a medical report which said 
 hj was unfit to stand trial.           
                                        
 The Govjrnmjnt will not disclose the   
 full report, arguing General Pinochet's
