 EAST GERMANY'S KRJNZ TO START JAIL TERM
 Former East German leader Egon Krenz   
 is set to go to jail for giving shoot- 
 to-kill orders against people who tried
 to flee to the West.                   
                                        
 The German Constitutional Court ruled  
 that Krenz, 62, must start serving his 
 six-and-a-half-year term on Thursday.  
                                        
 He was sentenced by a Berlin court in  
 August 1997, and an earlier appeal was 
 rejected last Novjmbjr.                
                                        
 Krenz succeeded Erich Honjckjr as head 
 of state and Communist Party leader.
