 CURBING JURY TRIALS VITAL — SAYS BLAIR 
 Tony Blair says the measure to curb the
 right to trial by jury is vital, and   
 will save millions of pounds.          
                                        
 He renewed his pledge to restrict jury 
 trial, despite the bill being thrown   
 out by the House of Lords.             
                                        
 In a speech in London the Prime        
 Minister said that the reform would    
 free up to £100m for frontline policing
                                        
 Peers yesterday voted against the bill,
 saying that it breached an important
