 CITY BIDS AGAIN FOR NATIONAL STADIUM   
 Manchester's hopes of becoming home to 
 the national athletics stadium - may   
 still be alive after the blueprint for 
 rebuilding Wembley was rejected.       
                                        
 Following a high level meeting         
 yesterday,a delegation from the city   
 council is now in London.              
                                        
 They are delivering another            
 presentation to government ministers   
 who will make a final decision.        
                                        
 The new plans revolve around the       
 proposals for the 2002 Commonwealth    
 Games complex in the east of the city.
