 WOMAN LOSES BATTLE FOR SURROGACY MONEY 
 A 46-year-old woman has lost her high  
 court battle to claim damages to fund a
 surrogate pregnancy.                   
                                        
 Patricia Briody, from Billinge near    
 Wigan, brought the case after losing   
 the chance to bear children as a result
 of medical negligence 26 years ago.    
                                        
 She was awarded £70,000 compensation   
 but faces having to pay costs.         
                                        
 Miss Briody, after hearing of the      
 court's decision this morning, said: "I
 am devastated. How could the court have
 come to that decision?"
