 FREIGHT PARK MAY CREATE 14,000 JOBS    
 Oil giant Shell and property company   
 Burford Holdings are planning to build 
 a £250m industrial estate near         
 Manchester, creating up to 14,000 jobs.
                                        
 The manufacturing and distribution park
 — to be called Trafford Interchange —  
 would be linked by rail to Europe.     
                                        
 Burford said the scheme met Government 
 policy of shifting more freight onto   
 rail and off the roads.                
                                        
 The disused Altrincham-Islam railway   
 would be reopened to connect with the  
 national network.
