It was a two-horse race, as expected, as the pair set a blistering pace in the two-mile event. Venetia Williams' inmate hit the front three from home and the result nevus looked in doubt from then on as the winner jumped fluently throughout. Tony McCoy tried in vein to reel in Bellator but went down by four lengths.
