 JOBLESS INCREASE CONDEMNED     
                              
 Deputy Labour leader Margaret Beckett  
 has described the latest unemployment  
 figures for Derby as "staggering".     
                                        
 She claimed that in two years there had
 been a 65% increase in claimants in her
 own Derby South constituency and 71% in
 Derby North.                           
                                        
 Mrs Beckett added it was a terrible    
 shame for Derby South to find itself in
 such a "dire situation".
