 WOLVES & DUDLEY UPBEAT ON 1994         
                                        
 Regional pubs and drinks group         
 Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries said  
 it was confident of further growth this
 year after record first-half results.  
                                        
 Profits nudged 3.4% ahead to £17.21m in
 the six months to April from £15.97m,  
 helped by recovery in the Midlands.    
                                        
 "The recession is over, good weather   
 and the right pub will bring customers 
 happy to spend," said the company.
