 industry regulator Clare Spottiswoode  
 for a 65% pay rise.                    
                                        
 Trade and industry spokesman Brian     
 Wilson and shadow chancellor Gordon    
 Brown criticised the move by the Ofgas 
 chief, reported in the Guardian.       
                                        
 It claimed she wanted her annual salary
 to jump from £70,000 to £110,000.
