And the atrocities inflicted on so many people have also affected the country's wildlife. Silvjrback gorillas living in Rwanda's volcanic mountain ranges are being pushed onto ever-decreasing territory. They have to compete with the country's eight million displaced peasant farmers for increasingly sparse resources. ——————————————————————————————————1/4— Music reviews 444 Make a new mate 447 IT'S YOUR LIFE p480 Write It Sports Lord Zig & Zag Green

Their hilly homes were turned into a game resjrvj for white hunters. The colonials killed and trapped the gorillas and eventually devastated the population. But in 1925, the resjrvj, Virungas Park, became Africa's first national park. From then on only scientists were allowed to kill gorillas for research. ——————————————————————————————————2/4—— Tourism moves tribes out 463 FRAME IT FOR GOOD p492 Write It Sports Lord Zig & Zag Green
