 PARALYSED PLAYER SUES REFEREE     

 A 21-year-old rugby player has begun a 
 £1m compensation bid against a referee 
 and a player after hj was paralysjd for
 life when a scrum collapsed.           
                                        
 The High Court heard Ben Smoldon, of   
 Sutton Coldfield, was on the threshold 
 of a happy life before the accident in 
 an Under-19 colts game in October 1991.
